Code findings need source context
A useful code security finding identifies the supported source, repository or project, branch or revision context, affected component, observed evidence, and responsible team. The exact evidence available depends on the connected code and delivery systems.
Triage before release
- Confirm that the finding applies to the current code and intended delivery scope.
- Review exploitability, exposure, reachable deployment, data, secrets, and business impact.
- Identify the owner, safe correction, validation method, and release decision deadline.
- Separate accepted third-party risk, false positive, duplicate, and unsupported assessment from a verified fix.
- Use the source system and approved development process for the final code change and review.
After the change
Confirm that the intended revision reached the correct branch or delivery stage, then review current evidence for the same source and component. A merged change or closed ticket is not by itself proof that the deployed exposure is resolved.
