Remove repeated reconstruction
Investigations slow down when analysts have to find the original events, identify affected cloud accounts, rebuild the timeline and copy details between tools. Nova brings that information together so analysts can start by checking the evidence and following related activity.
Use the shortest safe path
- Start from the trigger and the minimum source evidence needed to confirm it.
- Follow affected entities and only the relationships relevant to the current decision.
- Expand the time window or event scope when the evidence supports a broader question.
- Use threat, behavior, and cloud context as supporting evidence without replacing the original records.
- Record unknowns and stop when the available evidence cannot support a stronger conclusion.
Measure speed with quality
Useful measures include time to ownership, time to first supported assessment, time waiting for evidence, repeated searches, reopened decisions, and the share of investigations with explicit coverage and unknowns. Faster closure without evidence quality is not a reliable improvement.
