Understand Nova Core and Nova Prime

Understand what Nova Core includes in an investigation and when Nova Prime can add an AI explanation with supporting references.

Prime is an eligible Velora enhancement. Availability is confirmed per environment and case. The Core evidence assessment remains the durable review record.

Nova Core is the durable evidence foundation

Nova Core assembles the customer-scoped security picture from retained Nova evidence. It keeps entities, timelines, source references, quality state, confidence, and unresolved gaps available for review.

The Core assessment remains useful even when assisted natural-language synthesis is unavailable or not permitted. It is the record a reviewer can inspect and use to understand what Nova observed and how the assessment was formed.

Nova Prime adds eligible synthesis

Nova Prime can add citation-validated natural-language analysis, investigation briefings, and guidance when the case is eligible and the environment is entitled, ready, and permitted to use that assistance.

Prime is an enhancement to Velora’s evidence-led intelligence. It is not an eighth ACDP engine, not a separate operational workspace promised to every customer, and not a replacement for the source records.

How Core and Prime differ

Evidence assembly
Core keeps the case, entities, timeline, source references, confidence, and gaps together.
Natural-language synthesis
Prime can explain an eligible Core assessment in concise customer-readable language with validated citations.
Availability
Core is the durable assessment layer. Prime depends on inclusion, eligibility, service readiness, and customer policy.
Authority
Neither Core nor Prime grants permission to publish a rule, accept risk, or perform a response action.

  4. 04
    Make the customer decision

The responsible team controls escalation, case closure, rule activation, risk acceptance and response permissions.

Questions to test during evaluation

  • Can analysts review the Core assessment when Prime is unavailable?
  • Can reviewers move from Prime language to the exact supporting evidence?
  • Are eligibility, unavailable states, missing evidence, and uncertainty visible?
  • Does the customer control where assisted synthesis is permitted?
  • Do recommendations remain separate from approval and execution?
